Hyatt’s New Points Calendar: A Game-Changer for Award Travelers

If you’re a Hyatt loyalist (or just love getting the most out of your points), there’s big news you’re going to love. Hyatt just rolled out a brand-new Points Calendar — and for award travelers, this changes everything.

For years, booking Hyatt hotels with points has been a mix of strategy and guesswork. You’d have to click day by day to see what was available, hoping to stumble across the sweet spot in their off-peak rates. Now? You can see it all at once.

What Is the Hyatt Points Calendar?

The Hyatt Points Calendar is an interactive, month-by-month view of hotel availability and pricing in points. Instead of endlessly clicking through dates, you can now instantly:

  • See exactly which nights are available for award bookings
  • Spot off-peak vs. peak pricing at a glance
  • Plan trips around the lowest redemption rates without guessing

No more “I’ll just check one more date” — it’s all right in front of you.

Let’s take a couple of examples:

Example 1: Hyatt Place Knoxville, Tennessee

When you search a property like Hyatt Place Knoxville, you’ll see a Points Calendar button under the Rooms & Rates section.

Once you open it, you’ll see a month view of points pricing. For example, in September 2025, most weekdays cost 15,000 points, while popular weekends — like when the Tennessee Volunteers play at home — are 18,000 points or completely sold out.

This makes it instantly clear which dates are worth booking and which ones you can skip.

Example 2: Alila Ventana Big Sur, California

At Alila Ventana Big Sur, a luxury all-inclusive property, standard rooms often show no availability at all. In the past, you’d have to click day-by-day to confirm this. Now, you can see it instantly — and then switch to Premium Suite to check for availability in higher categories.

Sometimes, even when a standard award isn’t available, a premium suite will be — and that can be worth it if you’re looking to maximize luxury.

If the date you want still isn’t available, you’ll get a quick pop-up message so you can move on without wasting time.

How to Use the Hyatt Points Calendar

  1. Search Your Hotel – Go to Hyatt.com or the Hyatt app and select “Use Points.”
  2. Open the Points Calendar – Look for the Points Calendar button under Rooms & Rates.
  3. Scan for Low-Point Nights – Off-peak pricing can save you thousands of points.
  4. Switch Room Types if Needed – If standard awards aren’t available, check premium suites or other categories.
  5. Book Quickly – Award nights, especially at popular properties, disappear fast.

Why I Think Hyatt Still Wins the Value Game

Hyatt already has some of the best redemption rates in the game — often requiring fewer points than competitors for comparable properties. This new calendar just makes those deals easier to find and book.

If you’re planning your next redemption, this tool will save you time, help you avoid frustration, and potentially unlock stays you thought were impossible to book. All you need to do is check the Hyatt promotions or open up a Chase credit card for easy transfers.

Bottom line: Hyatt’s new Points Calendar is a huge win for award travelers. Whether you’re chasing a luxury suite at Alila Ventana or a game-day weekend in Knoxville, this tool puts the information you need in one simple view.
